Netizens mock Jessica for her poor English after interview surfaces

On April 11th, on a popular online community Pann, a user posted her thoughts on Jessica’s English.

The user posted, “I happened to run across Jessica doing an interview in English but I noticed that her English was very limited, not at all at a native level. Her younger sister Krystal does but Jessica may sound like she’s good to Koreans because she has good pronunciation but her level of English is around that of my friends who studied abroad for around 3 years.”

This observation seems interesting as many of Jessica’s recent appearances have been in Hong Kong or New York and various interviews have therefore been conducted in English. In response to this statement, many netizens have flooded the post with agreement, comparing Jessica’s English to that of Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany and her own sister, f(x)’s Krystal.

[+ 72, –  0] This isn’t hating on her ㅋㅋㅋ It’s true. Tiffany speaks English completely fluently. Her English is straight up native level and Jessica is more like a international student. Didn’t she practice for around 7 years? The longest out of all the trainees? That plus her GG activities is another 7~8 years so she lived in Korea longer than she lived in the U.S. So it makes no sense that English is more comfortable for her. She was born in the States so her pronunciation is good but while it may sound good her English isn’t at a good level.

[+ 71, – 5] Ya Krystal is good at English but Jessica, she definitely is more comfortable with Korean. If you watch the reality program with Jessica and Krystal she speaks English here and there but when she has to say anything complicated and can’t say it in English she switches to Korean. That part was funny to me ㅋㅋㅋㅋ. I came to the US in grade 3 so English is more comfortable to me and even I speak only Korean but on that program she seemed very awkward ㅋㅋ like she was pretending English was more comfortable for her?

[+ 66, -1 ] ㅋㅋㅋ Right? Her level is so different from Tiffany..Tiffany is on a native level and Jessica nope
