Netizens react to rumors about no more midnight song releases

After rumors began to spread about digital music sites possibly banning midnight releases for songs, netizens began expressing their opinions on the matter.

Major digital music sites, such as MelOn, genie, and Soribada met to discuss the topic of midnight digital releases, a topic that has been controversial lately. According to reports, discussions concluded with most parties leaning towards banning midnight releases. One theory suggests that midnight releases are more susceptible to sajaegi because most users and site administrators are sleeping at midnight, meaning technical issues wouldn’t be able to be attended to immediately. Despite this, however, netizens have been lobbying against the decision, showing their support for the practice.
