Rookie male group Pure Boy protests for TVXQ’s reunification on the streets of Myungdong

On December 22nd, rookie male group Pure Boy has taken to the streets as they protest for the reunification of all five TVXQ members, Jaejoong, Yunho, Changmin, Junsu and Yoochun.

Pure Boy took their demonstration the streets of Myungdong, citing that the five members of TVXQ have opened the way for Korean artists to further spread their activities into Japan.

The members held a sign that read, “We want to see a five-member TVXQ take the stage once.” Member Hyo Bin commenting that it is the wish of hundreds of thousands of fans around the world to see. In the cold weather, the four members of Pureboy took turns picketing in the streets of Myungdong, alternating for a span of approximately six hours.

Holding the position of rapper in the group and hails from Los Angeles, Ha Young said, “I grew up dreaming of becoming a singer watching TVXQ sunbaes. With in the Korean-American community, TVXQ was our pride and dream. I couldn’t have been more shocked when I heard of their separation, I was going into high school at that time. TVXQ as five was the real king of K-pop in the states and was the best of the best.”

IT Entertaiment’s headquarter director,  Go Chul said, “TVXQ as 5 in the past was the pride of all Korean communities including Japan and the States. Foreigners wanted to make Korean friends from their interest in TVXQ, some acquaintances from 10 years past called me to try to learn Korean and they were the center of attention everywhere. They made me proud of being a Korean for a few years and I was so happy.”

The agency’s co-CEO Park Sang Hyun also gave his thoughts, saying, “TVXQ is a once in a century kind of idol group. To see them perform on stage as five once more is the hope of millions of Koreans everywhere and billions of fans everywhere. If we could convert the amount of effect they had on Korea as a brand over the past years, it would be over hundreds of billions. To help Korea shine and to help Korea benefit, I wish the members from the two companies could come together and sincerely make up. With their military service coming up right now, I feel, this is their last chance to do so. I hope the fans who have been divided can come together and aid in the creation of an atmosphere where TVXQ can come together once again.”

Currently, the original members of TVXQ are split and promoting in two groups, TVXQ consisting of Yunho and Changmin, and JYJ consisting of Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu. JYJ separated from SM Entertainment following a contract dispute in 2010. Since then, they have been following group and individual activities under their agency C-JeS Entertainment.

Pure Boy is a nine-member male group that made their debut in April 2014 under IT Entertainment with the single “All Together,” and consists of members Ji Ho, Nan Kang, Hyo Bin, Jae Won, Young Bin, Jin Sung, Ha Young, Sang Min, and Sang Yoon.
