I Am_Campaign is heading to New York this June after successfully holding its first event in Los Angeles earlier in May.

In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM), the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) launched its 2nd I Am_Campaign in collaboration with Verizon Wireless.

The I Am_Campaign aims to promote Asian Americans in Entertainment and “defines the progress of Asian-Americans across cultures in various industries.”

Launching into its second year, the 2015 I Am_Campaign features aspiring stories in the form of mini-documents from young up-and-coming stars such as Ki Hong Lee and Arden Cho, as well as Daniel Dae Kim, Constance Wu, Cassey Ho, Jason Chen, and the founders of Seoul Sausage Co.Ted Kim, Yong Kim, and Chris Oh.

The campaign launched two free events in honor of the I Am_Campaign, with the first recently taking place in Los Angeles at the Japanese American National Museum on May 27th and another set to take place in New York at the Japan Society on June 18th.

Verizon has been a key supporter of Asians and Asian-Americans breaking into the entertainment industry for years, including the APAHM Tour with B.A.P in 2013 and has been sponsoring KCON since its inception in 2012.

CAPE is a non-profit organization that was established in 1991 to support AAPI’s (Asian American & Pacific Islander) in the entertainment industry with the mission to champion diversity by educating, connecting, and empowering AAPI artists and leaders in entertainment and media.
