Melon Music Awards 2020 announced its “Top 10 Artists”. Here are the winners, in the Korean alphabetical order! Congratulations, talented kings and queens.

1. Kim Ho Joong

Trot singer Kim Ho Joong first came to stardom after his appearance on the show Mister Trot. Since then, he has charmed the trot-genre fans with his opera-based vocal skills.

2. BTS

Global superstars BTS made the pandemic-ridden year of 2020 bearable for ARMYs by dropping bop after bop after bop! Their latest album, BE, is sweeping charts yet again — with the main track “Life Goes On” reminding everyone this too shall pass.

3. Baek Yerin

In February 2020, vocalist Baek Yerin sold out her first concert “Turn On That Blue Vinyl” — proving herself one of the hottest female solo acts in the nation. Her unique tone of voice makes her all the more irresistible!

4. Baekhyun

EXO member Baekhyun also had a successful year. His solo, “Candy”, became a record-breaking hit. Now also doubling as one of Korea’s most beloved YouTubers, Baekhyun made the most of what he could out of 2020.

5. IU

Undeniably one of the most successful female solo acts in Korea, IU celebrated her 12th anniversary in September of 2020. Her appearance on Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook had both K-Pop fans and TV viewers staying tuned for the whole show!

6. OH MY GIRL

K-Pop’s rising girl group OH MY GIRL re-wrote their history in 2020 as their NONSTOP album’s main title “Nonstop” reached #1 on Melon chart for the first time since their debut.

7. Lim Young Woong

Trot singer Lim Young Woong, who also appeared on Mister Trot, became a legend after he conquered the trot throne as the show’s finalist. Since his victory, Lim Young Woong has been sweeping TV commercials with his gentlemanly charms!

8. Zico

Block B member Zico is a self-made man with his own entertainment agency, which has recently merged with Big Hit Entertainment. From rapping to singing, producing to agency-running, this multi-talented man hasn’t stopped wowing us since his debut.

9. BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK has been keeping BLINKs 200% satisfied with a spectacular year. Filled with quality album drops and increased TV appearances, BLACKPINK’s 2020 has been nothing but “Pretty Savage”!

10. IZ*ONE

Though IZ*ONE had a shaky start to 2020, halting their promotions in light of the Produce 101 series’ voting manipulation controversy, the group remained strong. IZ*ONE is set to disband April 2021, but K-Pop fans remain hopeful for an extension.
