MBC‘s King of Masked Singer has become a worldwide phenomenon in recent years. While the idea of Korean stars going head-to-head in a singing competition while concealing their identity with flamboyant masks may sound ridiculous, viewers can’t get enough. Here are the top 10 performances that brought in the most views on YouTube.
10. Kyuhyun (Super Junior) – 4.22 million views
In at 10th place is Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun, who has racked up 4.22 million views with his rendition of Park Hyo Shin‘s “Wild Flower” on a 2015 episode of King of Masked Singer.
Viewers remarked that while plenty of K-Pop singers can hit high notes, Kyuhyun’s control over his voice is something truly unique. With a voice that’s both comforting and emotive, Kyunhyun definitely proved his talent here.
9. Sunyoul (UP10TION) – 4.37 million views
In at 9th place is UP10TION‘s Sunyoul, who has racked up 4.37 million views with his rendition of So Chan Whee‘s “Tears” on a 2016 episode of King of Masked Singer.
Sunyoul performed in a costume of 15th century Korean artist Uhwudong. The most remarkable part of his stage is that he sang the whole song in the female key. His voice was so convincingly high, both judges and viewers had no idea a man was singing.
8. Ailee – 5.27 million views
In at 8th place is Ailee, who has racked up 5.27 million views with her rendition of Lim Jae Bum‘s “For You” on a 2015 episode of King of Masked Singer.
Ailee’s antennae may be distracting at first, but all doubts melt away the second you hear her voice. Viewers said her vocal tone is so distinct, they could tell it was her singing right away despite the costume.
7. Chen (EXO) – 6.56 million views
In at 7th place is EXO‘s Chen, who has racked up 6.56 million views with his rendition of Kim Dong Ryul‘s “Drunken Truth” on a 2015 episode of King of Masked Singer.
Chen performed in a glittering “Guitar Man” mask, and viewers said it’s a pity his face was hidden when he probably would’ve shown amazing emotion. While he’s known for his impressive high notes, he showed off his powerful lower register in this performance too.
6. Ryan Reynolds – 6.60 million views
In at 6th place is American actor Ryan Reynolds, who has racked up 6.60 million views with his rendition of the Annie OST‘s “Tomorrow” on a 2018 episode of King of Masked Singer.
Dressed in a unicorn costume, Reynolds stopped by the show while promoting Deadpool 2 in South Korea. While he may not be a K-Pop singer, his voice is surprisingly honey-like.
5. Hani (EXID) – 6.61 million views
In at 5th place is EXID‘s Hani, who has racked up 6.61 million views with her rendition of J. Y. Park‘s “Honey” on a 2016 episode of King of Masked Singer.
Hani performed in a “Little Match Girl” costume. Viewers were shocked to hear her beautiful vocal tone, remarking that her group’s songs didn’t show off her voice as well as solo performances can.
4. G-Dragon & Taeyang (BIGBANG) – 7.10 million views
In at 4th place is BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon and Taeyang, who have racked up 7.10 million views with their rendition of Yukgaksu‘s “Heungbo” on a 2015 episode of King of Masked Singer.
Viewers were desperate to see the members’ expressions under their over-the-top costumes. Many were interested to hear G-Dragon change his voice tone, and some even said he sounded like Seungri.
3. Solji (EXID) – 7.71 million views
In at 3rd place is EXID’s Solji, who has racked up 7.71 million views with her rendition of Kim Ah Joong‘s “Maria” on a 2015 episode of King of Masked Singer.
This was one of the performances that kept fans’ spirits up while Solji was overcoming health issues. Her singing was so beautiful, even fellow member Hani was moved to tears in the audience.
2. Jungkook (BTS) – 13.92 million views
In at 2nd place is BTS‘s Jungkook, who has racked up 13.92 million views with his rendition of BIGBANG’s “With You” on a 2016 episode of King of Masked Singer.
Jungkook is another singer whose voice is so unique that viewers could spot him straight away. Dressed in a “Fencing Man” costume, Jungkook blew everyone away with his soothing, emotion-laden vocals.

And the 1st place spot goes to BLACKPINK‘s Rosé, who has a whopping 20.41 million views for her rendition of Jung Seung Hwan‘s “If It’s You” on a 2017 episode of King of Masked Singer.
Rosé performed in a “Circus Girl” mask. After hearing how gorgeous she sounded here, viewers were begging for her to sing a K-Drama OST.
