3 Webcomics By Asian American Artists That You’re Sure To Love

Looking for reading material? We’ve got you covered!

Previously, we wrote about webcomics by Korean American artists that you would love. That list included Dami Lee’s As Per Usual and Murrz self-named slice-of-life comic. But, with so many talented Asian American creators out there, we thought we’d cast the net a little wider in what we share.

1. JingKu by DA-POW!

JingKu is written and drawn by DA-POW!, a Hmong American artist. JingKu is a historically fictitious tale based on Hmong culture and is currently available to read on the Web Comics app. It features beautifully done artwork done in black-and-white manga style, which gives you the feeling of reading a physical comic more than a webtoon.

‘Why keep the pigs behind the fence?’ ‘Why do you think, Jae?’ Are you the pig or the fence? In a small and ancient Hmong kingdom, a new leader arises, but with a new leader means a new ring of followers– and not all people wish to follow. When Shu, a teenage boy, refuses to abandon his family to serve the new ruler for life, a girl must take his place and save them from the possible consequences of betraying Shu’s kingdom.
