ARMY Questions The Price Of BTS’s Artist-Made Goods

What do you think of the price?

BTS has just released the first member’s artist-made goods. On January 1, 2022, they released Jin‘s version of the goods which consist of two versions of pajamas and one pillow design. The rest of the members’ versions will be released twice per week. However, the price of the goods has seemed to upset some ARMY.

The pajamas are selling for ₩119,000 KRW (about $100 USD) per set, regardless of design.

The pillow, an ergonomically-designed foam one, will sell for ₩69,000 KRW (about $58.00 USD).

Unless they are made of special materials such as silk or from designer brands, pajamas in South Korea normally don’t go for such high prices. Popular SPA brands such as Muji in South Korea sell pajama sets for less than ₩50,000 KRW (about $42.10 USD) each while roadshop brands often sell sets for around ₩30,000 KRW (about $25.20 USD) or less. While HYBE has name value and although the members put their efforts into creating the designs, fans are questioning the near exorbitant prices.

Oh f*ck. Well, although I said I wouldn’t buy pajamas, the other members’ are also going to be this price so it’s not that I’m not buying but I can’t…

  • “HYBE you crazy f*ckers…I’ve no words at the price of the pajamas. I’m not buying…”
  • “I was like just what is the price of the pajamas for everyone to be like that but… HYBE really has no conscience. Who would buy it like that? Just support the kids through music more and not goods.”
  • “The price of the pajamas… Just what crime did the artist commit… Does HYBE really not know market price? They rose it like 3 times… No I know it’s a business but…LOL”
  • “The price of the pajamas is one thing but what’s up with the pillow. If you go to the mart, it’s like ₩20,000 KRW (about $16.80 USD) for it… We already kind of saw the state of the prices with the BE albums but… Bigh- Sorry, HYBE, can you check the market before coming up with your prices… The pillow isn’t even by a specialty brand or anything this is too much.”
