Recently, Big Hit Entertainment artists BTS became the first Korean artist to reach No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Big Hit is currently pursuing the acquisition of KOZ Entertainment, which is run by singer Zico.
According to news outlets, Big Hit’s movement to acquire KOZ started earlier this year and is working more actively these days to make this happen.
Music officials stated, “Bang Shi Hyuk has been actively discussion the acquisition with KOZ and so far things have been going in a positive direction.”
In regards to the news, Big Hit Entertainment stated, “We are open to various opportunities. There hasn’t been a confirmed decision yet.”
Previously, Big Hit Entertainment acquired Source Music, Pledis Entertainment and other labels. If they are able to successfully acquire KOZ, they will be bringing in a great addition to the company.
Bang Shi Hyuk has worked with Zico as a judge for the Mnet survival program I-LAND and has shown respect for Zico’s world of music. With that being said, many are interested to see if Big Hit and KOZ will formally establish a partnership.
