BLACKPINK’s Lisa Already Has A Genre In Mind For Jisoo’s Solo Debut

Do you agree with Lisa’s pick?

The release of BLACKPINK Lisa‘s new hit album LALISA marks the third solo debut to come out of the group following Jennie and Rosé. Now, the only member left to show off her individual charms and talents is Jisoo—and Lisa already has a genre in mind for her unnie‘s debut.

Each BLACKPINK member has tried out something different for their solo debut. Jennie’s “SOLO” was a dance-pop track with EDM elements.

Rosé’s “On the Ground” combined electropop with pop-rock and synth-pop, while “Gone” was a soft, indie rock ballad.

Now, Lisa has taken on the hip hop genre for “LALISA” and “MONEY,” the former of which she also fused with traditional Thai music sounds.

Naturally, fans are now curious to know what genres Jisoo will be trying her hand at when the time finally comes. While she’s yet to give any clues, fellow member Lisa already has a music style in mind that she’d like to see Jisoo sing.

In a new interview, Lisa told Billboard, “I want to see Jisoo sing EDM.”

Lisa went on to say she thinks the genre would suit Jisoo, and interviewer Nolan Feeney brought up a time she already excelled at the style: when she covered Zedd’s “Clarity” on BLACKPINK’s world tour.

Lisa is so committed to the idea of an EDM solo for Jisoo, she promised, “I’m gonna call her today: ‘Unnie, please do EDM!’

Billboard also noted that Jisoo may try alternative music too since that’s a style she’s known to like. Her personal Spotify playlist includes numerous artists on the alternative scene, including Cigarettes After Sex and Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Plus, while Jisoo is known for her vocals, the interviewer also brought up she slayed a rap moment on “Pretty Savage.”

Lisa vehemently agreed that Jisoo’s hidden rap talent is a marvel, revealing, “I know! We always teaser her: ‘Jisoo the rapper!’

While there’s no word on when Jisoo’s solo will finally be unveiled, she’s sure to ace it no matter which genre she goes for.
