BTS And BLACKPINK Make Billboard’s List Of 50 Best Songs Of 2019

Their comeback tracks blew everyone away.

BTS and BLACKPINK have scored spots on Billboard‘s “The 50 Best Songs of 2019 (So Far): Staff Picks” list!

On June 4, Billboard released a list made up of 50 songs that the Billboard staff has chosen as some of the best songs of 2019, so far.

BLACKPINK’s comeback hit “Kill This Love” took the No. 50 spot. Billboard’s Nolan Feeney describes BLACKPINK as “K-Pop’s reigning girl group”, who don’t just transcend language barriers — “they obliterate them”. He also wrote that “Kill This Love” jumps back and forth between English and Korean so quickly and frequently that there is “no excuse for English-speaking holdouts to steer clear of their undeniable charisma”.

BTS’s “Boy With Luv” (featuring Halsey) grabbed the No. 20 spot. Billboard’s Bryan Kress says this song gives casual BTS listeners “an irresistible chance to admire what makes [BTS] K-pop’s biggest catch”. He describes this collab as an “unstoppable crossover-pop force” with an “irrepressible hook” and lyrics “steeped in BTS lore”.

The No.1 and No.2 spots went to the Jonas Brothers‘ “Sucker” and Billie Eilish‘s “Bad Guy”, respectively.
