BTS Breaks Decades-Long Tour Record…With Just 4 Concerts
BTS may have only done 4 PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE concerts in Los Angeles, but that didn’t stop them from breaking records with their mini tour!
The PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE concerts were held on November 27, November 28, December 1, and December 2 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. They were BTS’s first in-person concerts since 2019.
The first 2 concerts alone pulled in approximately $16.5 million USD, according to Billboard‘s Boxscore chart, a chart that tracks how much artists earn while on tour every month. The last 2 concerts brought in around $16.8 million USD, which means the 4 shows brought in about $33.3 million USD.
While earning over 30 million dollars from just 4 shows is impressive enough on its own, BTS also broke long-standing Boxscore records with these concerts. PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE became the highest-grossing US-based tour and broke an 18 year record, and the series of 4 concerts has the highest-grossing engagement since concert venues reopened in 2021.
BTS also came just a little bit shy of breaking the record for the highest-grossing arena engagement on the Boxscore chart. The Spice Girls currently hold the record with their 17 shows at the O2 Arena in 2007 and 2008. This concert series earned $33.8 million USD, just over BTS’s $33.3 million.
Considering BTS broke long-standing records with just 4 shows, we’re sure they’ll break even more Boxscore records when they embark on a full-length tour!
