BTS’s Incheon Airport Performance Has A Special Meaning Behind It

The location for BTS’s BBMAs stage wasn’t chosen at random.

Big Hit Entertainment is sharing the special meaning behind BTS‘s latest performance of “Dynamite”.

On October 14, BTS put on a larger than life show at Incheon International Airport for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards. For the fourth year in a row, the group won “Top Social Artist”, and they were also nominated for “Top Duo/Group”.

This year BTS has taken over several public spaces, including the National Museum of Korea, Everland theme park, and Gyeongbokgung Palace. Incheon International Airport is the latest addition, and it wasn’t chosen at random.

On October 15, Big Hit Entertainment released an official statement about the performance on BTS’s behalf. The location was chosen as a beacon of hope, to bring people all over the world together from afar.

BTS planned the 2020 Billboard Music Awards performance with the hope that the world that has been disconnected by the COVID-19 pandemic will be reconnected.

At the end of the performance, the departure billboards showed the destinations of major cities where BTS has planned to visit on their 2020 MAP OF THE SOUL world tour.
