Despite Controversy, BTS Occupies 1st Place On Oricon Chart Rankings

BTS is even setting records in spite of the atom bomb shirt controversy.

BTS remains at the top of the rankings at the Japanese Oricon Chart for the fifth consecutive day. 

 

According to the Oricon’s official homepage, BTS’s 9th Japanese single Fake Love / Airplane pt.2 with at least 17,869 records on their fifth day. This made them the top-selling record for the week. 

 

In total, the single has already sold 327,342 copies since it’s release. This has already broken their previous record of 269,861 points for their 8th single, MIC Drop/DNA/Crystal Snow.    

 

The incredible response to BTS’s recent album from both domestic and international fans has been unprecedented—all in spite of the controversy surrounding Jimin’s shirt, which led to their appearances on Music Station being postponed after protest.
