EXO’s Sehun In Talks To Star Alongside Kang Ha Neul, Han Hyo Joo and Lee Kwang Soo

Will we get to see the maknae on the silver screen?

On the 9th of June, it was announced by movie executives that EXO‘s Sehun had been casted in “The Pirates: Goblin Flag“, sequel to the 2014 movie starring Son Ye Jin and Kim Nam Gil, “The Pirates: Bandits Going To Sea“.

Sehun had previously given acting a challenge in 2018’s mobile movie, “Dokgo Rewind” alongside Gugudan‘s Mina and “Secret Queen Makers“, a promotional web-series for Lotte Duty Free Shop. He is the fifth member of EXO to make a screen debut following D.O, Chanyeol, Suho and Xiumin.

The Pirates: Bandits Going To Sea” was conceptualized around the Joseon era, as a team of mountain bandits seek out the lost seal of the Ming Emperor for a reward, only to meet a female pirate and her crew. The director in charge of the 2014 hit movie, Lee Seok Hoon, will be replaced by Kim Jung Hoon, who directed “The Accidental Beginning” and “Petty Romance“.

While previous cast members including Kim Nam Gil and Yoo Hae Jin will not be reprising their roles, the new cast brings onboard familiar names such as Kang Ha Neul, Han Hyo Joo, Lee Kwang Soo, Kwon Sang Woo and Chae Soo Bin.

Sehun’s role is written thus far as a handsome pirate that specializes in archery.

SM Entertainment‘s representatives have responded saying that while he is considering the role positively, they are still in talks and that nothing has been confirmed.

The first filming is set for the end of July.
