Meet K-Pop’s first openly homosexual idol, Holland (Birth name Ko Tae Seop). He was born on March 5, 1996, in Daegu, South Korea.
He intended to debut with an idol group but later changed plans because he wanted to come out as openly gay.
When news of his open sexual orientation hit the masses, Holland garnered huge attention in Korea and the entire world for his decision to be open.
He released his debut single, “Neverland,” on January 22, 2018.
Holland also released his music video on the same day on YouTube and just one week after the release, he has already amassed a total of 4,445,617 total views.
Due to a kissing scene between Holland and another man the video is marked not suitable for minors.
Even though he will face many obstacles, Holland has opened new doors for LGBTQ rights around the world and in Korea. With this amount of success in just 1 week of debuting, Holland is a new name to remember in K-Pop.
