HYBE’s New Girl Group Is Reportedly Attempting To Recruit IZ*ONE’s Kim Chaewon And Miyawaki Sakura To Join

They’re trying to form a new powerhouse girl group.

HYBE‘s new girl group they are creating with Source Music is reportedly attempting to recruit IZ*ONE‘s Kim Chaewon and Miyawaki Sakura to join.

According to an exclusive report from Star News, Kim Chaewon has stamped her name on a contract with HYBE after agreeing to a contract with HYBE in late June. Her former agency, Woollim Entertainment and HYBE had agreed to a confidentiality agreement. Kim Chaewon would be part of HYBE and Source Music’s new girl group.

The new girl group is believed to consist of five members, and two or three of them will be connected to Produce 48 and IZ*ONE. There is a chance that one of the members will be a trainee who participated in Produce 48 but was not selected to be in IZ*ONE.

Miyawaki Sakura is also being heavily recruited to join the girl group, however the possibility of her joining is being delayed due to the difficulty in negotiations between HYBE and her Japanese representatives. HYBE is also in negotiations with another unnamed member, but that member is said to have more interest in acting rather than singing, so the recruitment process is not going as well.

If HYBE does launch their new girl group as planned, they will have a girl group that will immediately have a foothold in both the Korean and Japanese markets, leveraging IZ*ONE’s footprint.

HYBE has yet to comment on the report.
