IU will be releasing a brand new self-composed song on September 18, during her mini concert on Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook! The mini concert commemorates her 12th anniversary in the industry.

Kim Hae Ryong PD reportedly informed a media outlet that both the show and IU had grown and developed together since her debut. The relationship between IU and host Yoo Hee Yeol has also grown over the decade together, as he watched her grow up in the industry, and he a respected senior.

IU is also very close with the production team and tunes in every week to the music show.

The mini concert will be a way to celebrate IU’s 12th anniversary with fans, despite the current pandemic. The PD also expressed his gratitude towards the star for being passionate about the show. It was previously reported that she had sung a total of 60 songs during a 14 hour recording for the concert.

The show’s staff had apologized to IU for not being able to provide her a luxurious, fancy stage set up that fits her usual concerts, but the humble queen expressed that she preferred the simple set up of the show.

The staff were ever grateful for her kind consideration, and as a cherry on top, to be releasing a new song through the show! The song was self-written and will premiere on September 18 at 11:20 pm KST!
