Jared Leto Couldn’t Stop Gushing About Meeting BTS, And The Collaboration That Almost Happened

How has this only been revealed now?

Since debuting in 2013, BTS has taken the world by storm, showcasing their music to a global audience and gaining fans at an unprecedented rate.

Yet, it also seems that they have amassed a following from celebrities, all of whom have loved sharing experiences of meeting the members throughout their careers.

It seems as if another legendary musician has had the privilege of meeting the group, and it is none other than Oscar-winning actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars‘ member Jared Leto!

The musician recently sat down with W Magazine and discussed everything about his upcoming film House of Gucci, TikTok, and of course, BTS. In particular, he spoke about the time that he met BTS in person, and he seemed like someone who could easily be an ARMY!

I’ve met BTS before. If it wasn’t for COVID, I wouldn’t have washed this hand, and I may have gotten a hug or two, just so you know, at the American Music Awards.

If that wasn’t enough for fans, who would probably find his comment relatable AF, Jared Leto then spilled some TMI about the fact that there could’ve been a collaboration between the two artists.

At one point, we almost did a song, I think, together. There was some talk or something, I don’t know.

Although it didn’t happen, it wouldn’t have been too surprising as BTS and Jared Leto treated fans to an adorable interaction back at the 2017 American Music Awards.

After the group performed “DNA,” Jared Leto came out to present the next award but explained, “I need a moment to recover from that performance. That was incredible.”

He even tweeted an image that someone must’ve sent him showing just how much it looked like he had enjoyed the group’s performance.

Fast forward to 2021 and Jared Leto has continued to showcase his respect for the group. In March, he took part in a medley of “Dynamite,” alongside other Hollywood stars like Tom Holland, Andra Day, George Clooney, and many more.

Hopefully, with BTS in America, they had a chance to catch up, and maybe a collaboration between them could become a possibility in the future. With two very distinct music styles and fanbases, it would be an interesting mix. Yet, if BTS’s collaboration with Coldplay has proved anything, it’s to expect the unexpected.
