Mnet Shares Plans To Bring MAMA To The United States

They’re going truly global.

Mnet‘s leadership team shared their plans and goals to bring the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) to the United States.

Mnet held their global press conference with the media today, November 16, and head of CJ ENM music content Kim Hyun Soo shared how MAMA has been one of the leaders in the music industry and awards show industry, with their spectacular scale, production value, and state-of-the-art technology.

MAMA has been leading the K-Pop boom in Asia, communicating directly with local fans, and promoting K-Pop to others. In 2017 and 2018, MAMA week was held throughout three regions over week, and its first 40,000 seat dome festival was held in 2019. It has established itself as the first awards ceremony to take on all of Asia. We are trying to move forward again so K-Pop can be recognized as a major genre enjoyed by the world, and no longer a minor genre.

MAMA is now a global K-Pop awards ceremony with fans from around the world. In line with the world’s best K-Pop awards ceremony, we will be expanding the hosting venues to throughout Asia and the United States. As a result, MAMA will expand its influence and solidify its position as an awards ceremony for people around the world. We introduce various  various lineups of movies, dramas, and K-lifestyle that center around K-Pop to lead the Korean culture trends that the 15-24 generation.

The leadership team also shared other details about this year’s MAMA and future events, such as incorporating data from Apple Music to strengthen their data collection. They have also announced that spectators will be in attendance at the awards ceremony, and Ed Sheeran is one of the invited performers.
