With the release of their 9th mini-album Heng:garæ, SEVENTEEN have once again proven that they are an unstoppable force. They’ve taken home many music show wins, dominated the charts, and more since making their comeback. Every day, SEVENTEEN are adding another incredible feat to their list of achievements including their most recent record on Oricon.
Last week, Japan’s largest sales statistics site Oricon announced Heng:garæ had taken no. 1 on their weekly albums chart, becoming SEVENTEEN’s third consecutive album to do so. This meant that SEVENTEEN became the third male foreign artist in history to take no. 1 on the chart with three consecutive albums as well as the first to achieve the record in almost 43 years!
On July 7, however, SEVENTEEN smashed yet another major record on Oricon! For the second week in a row, Heng:garæ took no. 1 on the weekly albums chart. In doing so, SEVENTEEN became the first foreign male artist in 12 years and 8 months to do so, breaking the previous record set by the Backstreet Boys with “Unbreakable”!
SEVENTEEN, meanwhile, are set to further dominate Oricon’s charts as they will be releasing a new Japanese mini-album 24H on September 9.
