Shin Ye Eun’s Appearance On “Yumi’s Cells 2” Goes Viral Proving The Actress Is Deserving Of All The Hype

“Wow, but she’s too pretty.”

In life, nothing can be more suffocating than having to live up to grandiose expectations.

In Korea’s entertainment industry, the expectations can be outright stifling, as in the case of actress Shin Ye Eun.

From her debut, she has been hailed as the actress to take up the mantle to lead the next generation of great K-Drama heroines.

Her beauty was often compared to Suzy, and from 2019-2020, the actress was the most in-demand among the new generation of actors in K-Drama.

Unfortunately, the actress has yet to meet those expectations.

Her much-anticipated first major lead in the drama He Is Psychomentary finished with a lukewarm viewership rating of 2.3%.

Shin Ye Eun’s follow-up effort, Meow The Secret Boy, also finished with a low rating of 1%. The low rating was even more magnified as the drama aired on KBS, one of Korea’s three major networks.

The actress’s career hit a low-point with the 2020 JTBC drama More Than Friends. The drama finished with a disastrous viewership rating of 1.3%.

Shin Ye Eun has since taken time off leading drama ensembles, with her only notable work in 2021 being the new radio show that she took over in November and a one-episode drama on KBS that saw a viewership rating of 1.8% in the same month.

The actress would later confess in a tearful confession that she felt responsible for the poor showing of her past dramas.

HBO’s Entourage once had a line in an episode that goes, “Once a star, always a threat,” and no words can be truer for Shin Ye Eun.

The actress’s long-awaited appearance in the beloved drama Yumi’s Cells 2 has gone viral, proving that the actress is still very much a threat.

Shin Ye Eun plays the role of Da Eun, a character that vyes for the affection of male protagonist Bobby Yoo, played by GOT7‘s Jinyoung.

Netizens huddled over to the comment section on a post in the online community Theqoo that has since been viewed over 70K times.

Despite Shin Ye Eun playing the character that shakes Bobby’s relationship with Yumi, played by Kim Go Eun, netizens couldn’t help but admit the actress’s beauty.

  • “Ha, she’s too pretty.”
  • “I’m getting pissed already, lol.”
  • “Wait, Shin Ye Eun is so pretty and cute.”

Netizens couldn’t help but fall in love with the actress all over again, despite her character’s threat to Yumi’s and Bobby’s relationship.

  • “Shin Ye Eun is really lovely, though.”
  • “Wow, but she’s too pretty.”
  • “Da Eun… she’s too pretty…”

  • “Shin Ye Eun’s pretty ㅠㅠ.”
  • “F@ck, why are you pretty…”
  • “Seriously though, she’s really, really cute ㅜㅜ.”

Although it remains to be seen if Shin Ye Eun can jumpstart her acting career as a successful series lead, her viral appearance is a better start than she could’ve ever hoped for.
