CW To Release American Version Of K-Drama “Strong Girl Bong Soon”

They’re making changes to the storyline.

Everyone remembers the highly loved K-Drama series, titled Strong Girl Bong Soon. It starred Park Bo Young, who played Do Bong Soon, a woman looks frail on the outside but secretly holds a supernatural amount of power!

American television broadcast, The CW, will be making a remake of the show for American viewers. They will be adapting the drama with a shortened title of Strong Girl.

The adaption also features changes to its storyline. In the K-Drama version, Do Bong Soon was an aspiring game-designer who is discovered by Park Hyung Sik‘s character, after he witnesses her supernatural powers fighting evil. He hires her on as a personal bodyguard, where they soon blossom into a romantic relationship.

In the US adaption, the story follows a former war photographer named Rayna, who discovers her indestructible powers. After suffering heartbreak from her fiance, who finds her powers too much to bear, Rayna is hired on as a bodyguard for a billionaire named Oliver.

Strong Girl will be produced by Ronda Rousey, wrestler, MMA fighter, actress, and now a producer, alongside Ben Silverman – the executive producer of popular TV show, Jane The Virgin.
