Super Junior’s Eunhyuk Shares The Heartbreaking Reason Why He Moved Back In With His Parents

We wish them all the best ❤️

During a recent episode of KBS‘s Mr. House Husband 2, Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk revealed he started living with his family again—and the reason why is heartbreaking.

While many adults would prefer to branch out on their own and have their own space, 35-year-old Eunhyuk recently decided to move back into with his parents for the first time since he began living in dorms as a trainee.

Eunhyuk showed off his luxurious countryside abode on Mr. House Husband 2, but there’s a deeper reason behind his choice than just lavish living.

It’s all because of my mom,” said Eunhyuk, adding that he bought the house specifically for her. Sadly, the Super Junior star went on to reveal that his mother is currently suffering from interstitial pneumonia, a disease which occurs when tissue in the lungs becomes inflamed and scarred. Interstitial pneumonia can cause a range of uncomfortable symptoms, from coughing to shortness of breath to tiredness.

And the most heartbreaking part is that Eunhyuk’s mother’s prognosis is not positive. He shared that she currently only has 37% of her lung function remaining, and her health is deteriorating. “Not long ago,” Eunhyuk opened up, “her doctor told us… you should get ready to say goodbye to her, because it could happen at any time from now on.”

Even if Eunhyuk’s mother was able to get a lung transplant, the star says she’d only have hope of living for another seven years at most. As such, he decided to buy a comfortable home fitted with helpful appliances like a stair lift so he could spend precious time with his mom during her last days.

After living away from his family for around 20 years, Eunhyuk explained that he feels like he haven’t been able to do much for his parents. He vowed, “I’m planning on doing my best for them, and be a good son until I can.”
