Universal Pictures & Illumination’s “Sing 2” To Feature BTS Song

It will be included in a soundtrack of around 40 songs!

Recently, it was confirmed that BTS‘s V and Jimin‘s song “Friends” would be featured in Marvel Studios‘ new film Eternals.

It turns out this isn’t the only BTS song to be featured in cinemas this year. There are now reports that Universal Pictures and Illumination‘s sequel to the 2016 animation Sing will also include one of the group’s songs.

Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey returns as theatre owner Buster Moon in Sing 2 as he attempts to pressure a rockstar into joining his group of animal performers.

This all-star cast includes award-winning actor Taron Egerton (Kingsman), actress Scarlett Johansson, comedian Nick Kroll, actress Reese Whitherspoon, who are all reprising their original roles. This time, they will be joined by singer-songwriter Tori Kelly, producer and solo artist Pharrell Williams, comedian Eric André, comedian and singer Chelsea Peretti (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), actress Letitia Wright (Black Panther), U2 frontman Bono, and soloist Halsey (BTS’s close friend) among others.

With this cast of A-list celebrities, many talented singers, we can expect an upcoming great soundtrack. U2 will be releasing a new track, “Your Song Saved My Life,” for the movie.

Additionally, the soundtrack will include songs by Taylor Swift, The WeekndBillie Eilish, Drake, Prince, Cardi B, and, of course, BTS. There will be more to come, as well as the soundtrack totals up to 40 songs, including classic and contemporary.

The BTS song is rumored to be “Not Today” from their 2017 album You Never Walk Alone, a repackage of their second Korean-language studio album, Wings. According to Illumination Entertainment Fanon Wiki, it will be an English version performed by Taron Egerton, voice actor Jim Cummings, Ernie SabellaCody Simpon, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Nick Kroll, Ludacris, and Will.i.am.

It’s yet to be officially confirmed. Still, Marvel fan website Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki had listed GOT7‘s Mark Tuan as featured with BIBI for the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings soundtrack long before it was confirmed. So, it’s possible that the rumors of “Not Today” are true, especially since we know there will indeed be a BTS song on the soundtrack.

Sing 2 is directed by Garth Jennings. The film will officially be released in theaters on December 22, just in time for Christmas.
