BTS’s J-Hope Reveals How His Iconic Scene In The “Butter” Music Video Was Originally Meant To Filmed

He was surprised how fans reacted to it!

When BTS released the music video for their latest track, “Butter,” fans couldn’t hide their excitement! In particular, one of the scenes that caught the eyes of fans the most was when member J-Hope ate a block of butter at the end of the video.

In an interview for Amazon Music, host Jaeki Cho asked J-Hope what it was like eating the butter. Surprisingly, when he first filmed the scene, he didn’t expect such a huge reaction from viewers.

A lot more people were shocked about it than I first thought. When I watched MV reaction videos, I see people gasp at that part.

J-Hope also pointed out that he thought it would be fun for the video because of the concept, but he also revealed that he wasn’t meant to eat the butter.

Initially, the direction was to bring the butter close to my mouth and end there. But I thought it looked better visually to eat the whole thing. So I said, ‘Let’s go for this,’ but I didn’t think it’d cause such a big reaction.

RM and Jaeki Cho then added that it was more impactful because J-Hope’s hair was the color of butter.

The other members then compared it to eating other food, which is typically used for cooking rather than eating, and it seems as if it could be an inspiration for a new song.

There is no denying that it was an iconic scene, but hopefully, J-Hope doesn’t have to eat any more butter in the future. You can watch the whole video below.
