As part of a birthday project by Sehun‘s Chinese fans, he will become the first idol to have a full page spread in the New York Times.
Iridescent Boy, one of the most followed idol fansites in the world, posted the photo on their Twitter.
The spread not only features a birthday greeting, but also advertises the premiere of Busted — the Netflix Original variety show that Sehun is starring in.
This project has been in the works by OhSehunBar and Cxunqi for over 6 months, due to how strict the restrictions are. Ads for the New York Times cannot be accepted based solely on whoever is willing to pay the fee.
According to The New York Times media kit, a full page ad can cost upwards of $100,000 USD.
According to OhSehunBar, New York Times will place the ad on the “A-listing that has the most important news as a recognition of Sehun’s influence”.
