GOT7’s Youngjae Reveals Who He Thinks Of For His Song Inspiration

And it’s the sweetest possible answer.

In a recent interview with the Star Magazine, GOT7‘s Youngjae sat down to answer some questions about himself and his music.

One of the questions asked in the interview was about Youngjae’s music process.

The idol explained that he tries to work on his music routinely every day.

And that he’s never had one of those moments where he is suddenly hit by immense inspiration.

But regardless, he tries his best.

And Youngjae continues to explain that he often gets inspiration from his dog Coco.

In the interview, he gives examples that he might get inspiration when Coco is smiling or doing something cute.

Youngjae also adds that because Coco’s name ends with “co,” there are a lot of different endings he can substitute in Coco’s name to playfully call for his dog depending on the mood.

For example, Youngjae believes that when Coco wakes up, his messy fur reminds him of the Joker. So he calls him “Joco.”

Or sometimes Coco’s fur instead reminds him of Go Chang Seok, an actor.

So he would then call Coco “Co Chang Seok.”

Coco’s name lends itself to as many possible playful names as Youngjae wants.

And moments like that, of the wordplay and different possibilities, help inspire the idol for his lyrics and music.

He even adds that he’s written both a song title and lyrics about Coco.

Clearly, Youngjae’s dog means the world to him, and although maybe Youngjae doesn’t believe that this is a significant source of inspiration, it is absolutely a sweet one. And it shows an extra kind side of the warm-hearted idol.
