Former “Produce 101” Participant Gives Honest Advice To A Fan Having A Hard Time After Quitting Their Dream

Becoming an idol is not easy.

Former Produce 101 participant Choi Eunbin previously answered fans’ questions and dilemmas through Instagram.

She asked fans the question, “I am curious about your TMI, please let me know.”

One fan asked, “I’m having a hard time this late at night thinking about the time I gave up my dream to become an idol because I thought I’d never make it.”

To this question, Eunbin gave a long and honest answer.

She explained that although it may seem like a beautiful dream, that there are many dark aspects of this job that will make you give up many parts of your life. “Although it is a really pretty dream, it is also a very tough one as well. There are many aspects of your life that you have to give up and even times where you are treated inhumanely and constantly monitored.”

Choi continued by revealing that although talent is important, this job relies heavily on luck more than anything else. “Of course natural born talent and hard work is also needed, but even if you debut because of that, there are going to be many more times where luck is needed even more than talent. You basically have to reply on luck for most of this… When you think of the risk you are taking with this it’s sometimes terrifying to think of.”

She closes with a suggestion to create a certain time limit and see how much you can achieve during that time. “But if you have constant regret for not trying, I suggest you make a limit for yourself and work your absolute hardest and see where you end up. If you did your best and you got closer to your dream, then continue to go for it! But if you did your best and you haven’t gotten anywhere, I say give it up and move on.”

Although it is a really pretty dream, it is also a very tough one as well. There are many aspects of your life that you have to give up and even times where you are treated inhumanely and constantly monitored. You won’t be rewarded for all the efforts you put into it. Of course natural born talent and hard work is also needed, but even if you debut because of that, there are going to be many more times where luck is needed even more than talent. You basically have to reply on luck for most of this… When you think of the risk you are taking with this it’s sometimes terrifying to think of. But, if being on stage as an idol is something you really want to do and there is nothing that would make you happier than this, then it is right that you hold on and continue doing it until the end. But I want to say that this is road will not be an easy one (to be brutally honest, I don’t recommend it.) But if you have constant regret for not trying, I suggest you make a limit for yourself and work your absolute hardest and see where you end up. If you did your best and you got closer to your dream, then continue to go for it! But if you did your best and you haven’t gotten anywhere, I say give it up and move on.
