Last year, SEVENTEEN‘s DK and Joshua collaborated with artist Pink Sweat$ on his widely popular song, “17.” While the song was released back in September, DK and Joshua recently sat down with Elle Korea where they discussed their experience working with the American singer.
In DK’s portion of the interview, Elle Korea mentioned the great success the song obtained.
Q: “Your collaboration song with Pink Sweat$ and Joshua, ’17 (feat. Joshua and DK of SEVENTEEN),’ reached #1 on iTunes in 4 countries.”
It’s a collaboratoin that started when Pink Sweat$ reached out to us. He said he viewed my cover of his song ‘Honesty’ that I posted on Twitter. It also felt like destiny because he already had the song titled ’17.’
Q: “Has Pink Sweat$ inspired you in any way?”
He is an artists with a cool mindset. He says he always makes music while thinking about the influnece it will have on people and that’s how I realized that’s the reason his music sounds so warm and comforting.
For Joshua’s interview, Elle Korea commented on how Pink Sweat$ mentioned the charms of K-Pop. Joshua replied and expressed how he loved the idea of artists learning from one another.
Q: “You collaborated with Pink Sweat$ alongside DK. He mentioned in a recent Forbes interview that one of K-Pop’s charms is its bright energy.”
We chatted over a video call and discussed how he learns from K-Pop’s energy, styling, and visual elements like videos. It feels good knowing that theres is this interaction, since we also gain inspiration from international artists.
As mentioned before, the collaboration between the three talented artists was nothing but a success! Hopefully, more collaborations between Pink Sweat$ and SEVENTEEN will be released in the future!
