Sunmi Wanted Wanna One’s Lee Daehwi To Do a Dance Cover Of “Siren”… So He Did

Lee Daehwi is a self-confessed Sunmi fanboy… and Sunmi thinks he’s the perfect idol to cover “Siren”!

Sunmi‘s comeback track “Siren” is her first song to achieve an all-kill, and it was written by the artist herself.

She was asked on SBS Power FM radio show “Park So Hyun’s Love Game” who she would like to cover the song, and Sunmi answered without hesitation: Wanna One‘s Lee Daehwi.

“Wanna One’s Lee Daehwi has said that he’s a big fan of mine. Whenever I released a song, he did a cover dance. I think Lee Daehwi would suit the choreography in the chorus. He has such beautiful lines when he dances.” — Sunmi

Sunmi also mentioned in the past that she had supported him on Produce 101 so it was fascinating that he had proclaimed himself a fan.

Host Park So Hyun asked Sunmi to record a message to Lee Daehwi, so she said she hoped he would keep his promise to cover all her songs.

“Hello Daehwi, it’s Sunmi. I made a comeback with ‘Siren’. I forget where it was, maybe Taiwan, but you promised me that you’d upload a post on Wanna One’s fan cafe when I made a comeback. You haven’t done that. So I hope that instead you’ll do a beautiful mermaid dance!” — Sunmi

A few days later, he uploaded a short dance cover to his fan cafe, just like she requested.

“Sunmi sunbaenim said that it would be nice if I did a cover of “Siren”, so I uploaded it. I guess this means I really am a successful fan ~~ Sunmi sunbaenim ~~ Thank you~!!!” — Lee Daehwi

And fans are praising his abilities.

  • “I f*cking love this kid. I hope we keep seeing him after W1 disbands, because he has a lot to offer in the way of entertainment. Him taking down Heechul on Knowing Brothers was one of the funniest moments of Korean entertainment I have seen in years.”
  • “My boi you’re doing great sweetie.”
  • “I said this before and I will say it again… I will follow Daewhi until the ends of the earth, that kid has EVERYTHING that should be in an Idol… he is so cool.”
  • “So cool!”

Lee Daewhi is vocal about his love for Sunmi, often performing her dances during variety shows and at fan events. He admitted he has been a fan ever since she was in Wonder Girls.

The mutual support is really heartwarming!
