Super Junior Take Fans On A Trip Down Memory Lane With A 2021 Version Of “U”

The group transported fans back to 2006!

Super Junior has returned with their 10th studio album, The Renaissance, and released their new music video for the title track “House Party.”

To celebrate their comeback, Super Junior treated their fans to a trip down memory lane by performing their 2006 track “U” for their comeback show on Mnet!

It is an important song for the group in many ways! Not only was it member Kyuhyun’s debut song, but it was the first track they released after Super Junior lost its status as a project group.

In the video, the members can be seen with various odes to the original video, and fans instantly noticed that the group was trying to be as authentic as possible.

One of the most iconic aspects of the song is the choreography. 15 years on, the members are as crisp and clean as ever performing it on stage!

There were also more subtle references to the original video. Some fans noticed the similarities in clothes worn by members compared to the original video.

Although there were some serious upgrades, it is easy to recognize the references throughout. It was especially noticeable with Eunhyuk, who had a similar print pattern on his t-shirt to the outfit he wore in the original music video!

With the same choreography and vibes, it felt like the group had transported their fans back to 2006 with all the details. It was also impossible not to notice the iconic fan’s return that Heechul regularly used in old stage performances!

Can you spot the difference between the two? It doesn’t look as if Heechul or any of the members have aged a day since 2006!

The video also included over-the-top graphics behind the group and even the camera effects, which were popular in music videos from that time!

It was not the only treat Super Junior fans got as the group then went on to imitate the time they for their first win for the track back in June 2006!

After celebrating their 15th-anniversary last year, the performance was a treat for their fans, old and new!
